What you need
- Paper
- Washable paint
- Paintbrush or spoon
Setup
- Fold a piece of paper in half and open it back up
- Drop or paint blobs of colour on just one half
- Fold the paper closed, press firmly, then open to reveal the mirrored pattern

- Can you guess what the other side will look like before you open it?
- What could this pattern turn into — a butterfly, a bug, a mask?
Ways to change it up
- Fold into quarters for a four-way symmetrical pattern
- Cut the dried painting into a butterfly shape and add pipe-cleaner antennae
